De la Espriella proposes urban security blocks, sparks debate and support

President-elect Abelardo De la Espriella announced he will sign a decree on August 7 creating a 'Bloque de Defensa para la Seguridad Urbana' targeting five major cities: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, and Bucaramanga. The block would coordinate police, prosecutors, intelligence, and local authorities.
