The 25th anniversary of Operación Triunfo (OT) has been overshadowed by a public dispute between winner Rosa López and the show's organizers over payment for a planned reunion gala. Rosa López accused the organization of never paying artists for anniversary events, while organizers have firmly denied the claim and stated that no gala is currently scheduled.
In a video posted to social media, Rosa López expressed frustration at being expected to participate in anniversary events without compensation. "Que no nos paguen... En nuestro trabajo siempre hemos sido números internamente, pero nosotros tenemos que pensar en que todo no vale," she said . She also stated she would decline future invitations, asking, "¿Por qué tengo que estar siempre? ¿Por ser ganadora?" .
Organizers responded via Pilar Vidal on Y ahora Sonsoles, rejecting López's claims. "Siempre que llamamos a los artistas, para cualquier trabajo, sean de Operación Triunfo o no, se les paga. Rosa, tú cobras," Vidal stated, citing a direct message from the organizers . She also clarified that the planned 25th anniversary gala was proposed for a public broadcaster and a streaming platform but was canceled in both cases, so "no hay gala, no hay nada" .
