The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, announced on Monday the suspension of water rationing for one week across the city, citing recent rainfall and improved citizen savings. The measure, which had been in place due to the El Niño phenomenon, will be reviewed weekly to determine if it can be extended or must be reinstated.
Mayor Gutiérrez emphasized that the suspension is temporary and depends on weather conditions and continued water conservation. "Each week we will review the behavior of rainfall, contributions, demand, and storage to determine whether we can maintain the suspension or if it is necessary to resume measures," he stated . The city remains on alert, and rationing could return if conditions worsen.
