A series of cable thefts on the high-speed rail corridor between Madrid and Andalusia has caused repeated delays, with the latest incident on July 10 affecting services on the Madrid-Toledo and Madrid-Andalusia lines. Adif, the rail infrastructure manager, reported this as the third theft in the same area in just over two weeks Source: ABC.
The July 10 theft occurred between Mora and Orgaz and La Sagra in Toledo, disrupting signaling systems and causing delays for services operated by Renfe, Iryo, and Ouigo Source: ABC. Earlier thefts on July 4 and July 7-8 hit the same corridor between Urda (Toledo), Malagón (Ciudad Real), and Ciudad Real, with delays of up to 25 minutes on July 4 Source: Infobae. Adif stated it is working to resolve incidents "as quickly as possible" and is reinforcing security.
