Cable thefts cause repeat delays on Madrid-Andalusia high-speed line

A series of cable thefts on the high-speed rail corridor between Madrid and Andalusia has caused repeated delays, with the latest incident on July 10 affecting services on the Madrid-Toledo and Madrid-Andalusia lines. Adif, the rail infrastructure manager, reported this as the third theft in the same area in just over two weeks Source: ABC.

The incidents

The July 10 theft occurred between Mora and Orgaz and La Sagra in Toledo, disrupting signaling systems and causing delays for services operated by Renfe, Iryo, and Ouigo Source: ABC. Response

Adif stated it is working to resolve incidents "as quickly as possible" and is reinforcing security.
