The Colombian Attorney General's Office has formally imputed charges against Hollman Morris, former manager of RTVC, for alleged sexual violence committed in Madrid in December 2011. The judicial hearing is scheduled for November 17. This decision marks a significant development in the case brought by journalist and writer María Antonia García de la Torre, who filed her initial criminal complaint in 2019.
The case underwent a major procedural shift earlier this year. In October 2022, Prosecutor Alfonso Bonilla archived the investigation, arguing that the applicable crime was defamation rather than sexual violence. However, following an order from Attorney General Luz Adriana Camargo, Delegate Prosecutor Marcela Abadía reopened the inquiry in April 2024. Abadía applied a gender perspective, determining that the previous dismissal constituted a form of violence against women and reclassifying the act as "violent sexual act" .
The core disagreement lies in the nature of the encounter. García describes the incident as non-consensual, stating she was sober and separated herself from Morris immediately after he kissed her and touched her inappropriately . Conversely, Morris maintains that both parties had consumed alcohol and that the interaction was consensual, claiming García initiated the kiss . Morris has not yet publicly commented on the new imputation .
María Antonia García confirmed the news via social media, describing it as a crucial stage in her fight against impunity since 2011. She emphasized her trust in the judicial institutions but stated she would provide no further interviews to protect her privacy, directing all inquiries to her legal representative, María Camila Correa . She noted that a conviction would strengthen justice for victims of sexual violence in Colombia .
This case is part of a pattern of allegations against Morris. He has faced separate accusations from three other women regarding harassment, and in September 2026, a court partially closed a lawsuit involving Lina Castillo, another accuser . Despite these controversies, Morris remained in his position at RTVC until the end of the Petro administration .
