The Dominican National Police arrested four Colombian nationals linked to a series of armed robberies targeting luxury items in exclusive sectors of the Distrito Nacional, including Piantini. The operation, conducted by the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) with the Public Ministry, resulted in the recovery of high-value goods and weapons.
Authorities identified the detainees as Fabio Nelson Herrera Bedoya (45), Carlos Andrés López Usuga (31), Víctor Alfonzo Salamanca Cruz (38), and Diego Alexander Cetina Liberato (42). During the arrests, police seized significant evidence:
The investigation was triggered by complaints regarding violent thefts. One victim reported being stripped of a Rolex with a black bezel and Oysterflex strap. Another incident involved an attempted robbery on Calle André Julio Aybar, where suspects tried to steal a chain and another Rolex. Investigators noted that the suspects used vehicles to track potential victims before striking.
Usuga was also found with a false identity document under another person’s name. All four individuals, along with the seized assets, have been handed over to the Public Ministry. Police are currently cross-referencing detainee profiles with surveillance footage to assign specific responsibilities for each crime.
