A bus carrying the vallenato group of Kbeto Zuleta, son of legendary singer Poncho Zuleta, crashed into the Ariguaní River early Monday, killing two musicians and injuring at least 20 others. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the road between El Difícil, Magdalena, and Bosconia, Cesar, after the bus struck a guardrail and fell from a bridge .
The deceased were identified as corista Geovanny Lobo and guitarist Harold Santana . The manager, Esteban Bolaños, confirmed he and three other members were not on the bus, having disembarked in El Carmen de Bolívar to travel separately to Barranquilla . Kbeto Zuleta was hospitalized in intensive care at Clínica Sinais Vitais in Bosconia with a reserved prognosis; preliminary reports indicated he underwent a leg amputation . The mayor of Bosconia, Jorge Patiño, reported that among the 20 injured, several suffered amputations and three or four were in critical condition .
Authorities are investigating the cause. Early hypotheses include a loss of control or mechanical failure, though the road was reported to be in good condition . The bus, operated by the company 'Superstar', had departed from Sincelejo, Sucre, after a private event and was headed to Valledupar . The Cesar Governor's office expressed condolences and urged caution for traveling artists .
