Silvia Bronchalo, mother of Daniel Sancho, has returned to Spanish television to address the leaking of private audio recordings from her son's prison calls and to reveal a painful estrangement. Bronchalo admitted she recorded the calls with her son's permission, but denied leaking them and has filed a legal complaint to investigate the source of the leak .
The leaked audio, published by Okdiario, captured a conversation from October 4, 2025, in which Daniel Sancho asked his mother for €100,000 to buy land in Thailand, allegedly to secure provisional release through a judge with connections to the seller . Bronchalo confirmed she recorded the calls routinely: "Siempre las he grabado, él lo sabía. Tenía su permiso para grabar todas las conversaciones por videollamada" . She stated she felt "asco y náuseas" upon learning of the leak and has filed a police complaint to identify who leaked the material .
Bronchalo revealed that she has not spoken to her son since April 2026, after feeling "engañada y manipulada" by him . She explained that she decided to "tomar distancia para proteger mi salud mental" . The emotional toll was laid bare in her confession: "Siento que no me quiere, es duro" .
A key point of conflict is the approach to the case. While Daniel Sancho maintains his innocence and refuses to apologize for fear it would imply premeditation, Bronchalo advocates for a different path: "Le diría que pida perdón a la familia y al rey, una carta, y la indemnización siga para adelante" . She noted that she attempted to pay the compensation to the victim's family in September 2024 but received an "extraña" response .
