The Popular Party (PP) will demand that the Spanish government present classified military reports identifying 72 Moroccan soldiers allegedly infiltrated in Ceuta during a closed-door session of the Official Secrets Commission next Tuesday. The PP accuses the government of failing to classify the events as hybrid warfare and seeks explanations from Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
According to documents published by EL ESPAÑOL, the 72 individuals include 50 active-duty military personnel and 22 members of Moroccan intelligence. The intelligence agents are said to identify strategic points and vulnerable areas, while the soldiers operate on the ground, controlling settlements and spreading fear. The reports allegedly include up to 50 photographs.
Minister Robles stated that she has no knowledge of the alleged infiltration: "A mí no me consta. Yo sé que hay muchas especulaciones sobre lo que pasó." She noted that a judicial process is underway and that she will appear before the Reserved Expenses Commission on October 6. The PP, however, insists that the government was aware of the reports and failed to act.
The PP will also request that the director of the CNI testify, but the government has blocked her appearance.
