David Broncano revealed on 'La Revuelta' that his phone was hacked last year, leading to 1,500 calls per day for three weeks. The confession came after cybersecurity expert Ralph Echemendia, known as the 'Hollywood hacker,' presented Broncano with a 'menu' showing the black-market prices for his private data.
Echemendia demonstrated how easily personal information can be accessed online, handing Broncano an envelope styled as a restaurant menu. It listed prices for private data: an email, phone number, or address costs under $4; a Netflix account under $15; and access to a social media account under $30. "Tengo muchos datos tuyos que son públicos, pero lo que está ahí no es público, y viene con el precio que cuesta acceder a esa información en el mercado negro," Echemendia explained .
Broncano confirmed he suffered a hack last year that leaked his phone number. Instead of changing his number—which he called "un coñazo"—he simply put the phone aside and used a second device. "Guardé el móvil un tiempo y ahí se quedó. Tiré para adelante porque cambiar el número es un coñazo," he said . He eventually used the hacked phone only for specific tasks.
The segment also featured comedian José Mota, who joked about the show's future and proposed a new 'classic question' about undeclared income. Broncano admitted that early in his career he was sometimes paid in cash for bar performances .
