A dramatic police chase in Neuquén, Argentina, ended with the arrest of a man driving a stolen Toyota Hilux after a pursuit that included gunfire, reckless driving, and officers being struck. The incident began around 10:00 AM in the Valentina Sur neighborhood when police were alerted to a driver making dangerous maneuvers . The suspect, a 35-year-old man with a criminal record, was accompanied by a 25-year-old woman, also with prior offenses .
The chase involved multiple police units, including tourist police, precincts 12 and 44, and the motorized division. Video footage shows the Hilux reversing with its door open to evade officers, hitting two motorized police officers, one of whom was injured . A patrol car also reversed and collided with a civilian vehicle . The suspect reportedly fired at officers, who returned fire .
The chase ended at Choele Choel and El Dorado streets when the Hilux crashed into a patrol car. The suspect was shot in the arm and taken to Heller Hospital, where he was reported out of danger . The woman suffered a facial injury. The vehicle was confirmed stolen with an outstanding seizure order from Precinct 19 . Both suspects were detained and will be transferred to Precinct 12 .
