Google is rolling out a new setting that lets users remove the visible watermark from AI-generated images, videos, and music in Gemini and Flow. The change, announced by Gemini VP Josh Woodward, applies to images (Nano Banana), videos (Omni), and songs (Lyria), except in countries where law requires visible watermarks . The visible watermark becomes optional, but invisible SynthID and C2PA metadata remain to preserve traceability . The option is found under "Media Watermark" in settings, and it only affects newly created content . In some markets like India, South Korea, and Vietnam, only Ultra subscribers can access it, and institutional accounts are excluded . Woodward stated the goal is to balance creative control and safety . Google also plans to integrate the feature into Google Search's AI Mode, and will open-source Credentio, a C++ library for C2PA credentials . While the visible mark disappears, users can still verify AI origin via Gemini or Search .
