Anthropic, the AI startup behind Claude and Mythos, is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) this autumn with a valuation of at least $2 trillion, which would surpass SpaceX's $1.77 trillion IPO and make it the largest in history . Investors told the Financial Times that rapid revenue growth could more than double the company's current valuation . The IPO could take place in late September or early October, according to The Wall Street Journal .
Anthropic's revenue is projected to reach $100–120 billion annualized by end of 2026, up from over $47 billion in May, a tenfold increase . In May, the company raised $65 billion in a funding round led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, valuing it at $965 billion, surpassing OpenAI's estimated valuation . A February round had valued it at $380 billion .
Separately, Anthropic is in early-stage negotiations to acquire Nvidia-backed Decart AI, a deal that could be worth around $6 billion . Decart develops AI infrastructure and models, including video-editing model Lucy and simulation model Oasis. If completed, Decart's team would join Anthropic's inference and performance division .
Anthropic filed confidentially with the SEC on June 1, but cautioned that the IPO depends on market conditions, with no share count or price set . OpenAI also began confidential IPO preparations, though no date is confirmed .
