Sir Rod Stewart has canceled the remaining dates of his “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a routine coronary stent procedure, his publicist confirmed. The 81-year-old rock legend had already postponed or canceled several performances, including a Sunday concert in Cincinnati and a Tuesday show in Cleveland, before doctors advised him to take four weeks to recuperate.

Stewart's publicist said the singer "successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure" and that doctors are "pleased with his recovery." He has returned to normal daily activities but will rest for the next month before returning to the stage. The statement noted that "information regarding affected performances will be communicated by the respective promoters and venues."

Impact on tour

Stewart was scheduled to perform through Sept. 3 in North America, including a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and dates in Mexico. Earlier this year, he had already canceled two shows in Las Vegas and one in San Diego.

Stewart's response

In a statement, Stewart said, "I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend," and expressed disappointment at missing shows, adding, "I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon."
