Preliminary hearing begins for singer D4vd in teen girl's murder case

A preliminary hearing opened Tuesday for singer David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, over the murder and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The hearing will determine if sufficient evidence exists to proceed to trial. The prosecution's case

Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman argues that Burke, then 20, killed Celeste on or around April 23, 2025, because she threatened to expose their sexual relationship, which began when she was 13 and he was 18.
