CCOO, the largest union at Airbus España, has reached a preacuerdo with management that includes a 12% wage increase over the agreement period and maintenance of current telework conditions. The deal, announced late Thursday, comes after over two weeks of strike action that has involved an estimated 90% of the 14,000-strong Spanish workforce .
The proposed agreement, subject to a binding referendum by all workers, covers a 5% salary increase in January 2026 and another 5% in April 2027, plus 0.5% for individual and promotion reviews each year, with an additional clause linked to the IPC . Telework remains as per the VII Convenio Colectivo, two flexible vacation weeks are introduced, and the Bradford absenteeism methodology is suspended . The deal also guarantees that Space division staff stay within the collective agreement under Project Bromo .
However, the preacuerdo was reached only by CCOO. The strike's original convener, SIPA, along with UGT, CGT, UTIL, and ATP, have not yet agreed and were set to meet management on Friday . CEO Guillaume Faury, who visited the Getafe plant, acknowledged in a company-wide video that the strike reflects "a reason more profound than material conditions" — namely a loss of belonging and recognition . Faury admitted that decisions taken far from Spanish reality created disconnection, and he committed to long-term cultural change .
The preacuerdo must now be ratified by all workers in a referendum. Meanwhile, the strike, which has affected all Airbus plants in Spain, continues . The outcome of Friday's talks with other unions will determine whether the industrial action ends or escalates.
