Yahir Othón Parra, known as Yahir, has been confirmed as the seventh participant for the fourth season of La Casa de los Famosos México, set to premiere on July 26, 2026.
The 47-year-old singer and actor rose to fame in 2002 as a finalist in the first generation of La Academia, finishing in fourth place. Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, he began singing at age seven and later worked in bars in Tijuana before his breakthrough.
Yahir launched a successful music career with hits like "Alucinado" and "La Locura," and has acted in telenovelas such as Enamórate and Mi marido tiene familia. He also performed in theatre productions including Hoy no me puedo levantar and Jesucristo Súper Estrella.
Yahir's personal life has drawn media attention, particularly regarding his son Tristán, who has faced public struggles with substance abuse and a brief stint on OnlyFans. The father-son relationship has been strained, with Tristán making public statements about their conflicts. Yahir has also been linked romantically to Nadia (a fellow La Academia contestant) and Regina Murguía.
The confirmed participants are: Ernesto Laguardia, Cynthia Klitbo, Karina Torres, Aldo Rendón, Ximena Herrera, Moisés Peñaloza, and Yahir.
The fourth season will air on Las Estrellas and ViX starting July 26 at 8:30 p.m. (Central Mexico time). The grand prize is 4 million pesos.
