Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller have reached a legal agreement resolving a longstanding child support dispute. Under the deal, Sheen will pay $500,000 to settle past-due obligations, far less than the $15 million Mueller originally claimed.
In December 2025, Mueller filed a petition alleging Sheen owed approximately $8.9 million in unpaid child support plus $6.4 million in interest, stemming from a monthly obligation of $55,000 set in April 2010. She claimed payments became partial or stopped after July 2011 Source: ABC.es.
The new arrangement, effective July 1, 2026, requires Sheen to pay $500,000 in two installments: half by July 10 and the remainder by September 1 Source: Infobae. Each parent will now cover their own costs when the children are in their care, and legal custody remains shared Source: La Vanguardia.
The agreement includes a clause requiring Mueller to abstain from alcohol and drugs; a positive test or relapse would allow Sheen to seek sole custody until a new order is issued Source: La Vanguardia. The twins, Bob and Max, now 17, primarily reside with Sheen but maintain flexible visitation with Mueller Source: ABC.es. Neither party has publicly commented on the settlement.
