Typhoon Bavi has caused widespread disruption across East Asia, killing at least 17 people in the Philippines and forcing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands in China and Taiwan. The storm, which spanned up to 1,000 km at its widest, is expected to make landfall in eastern China early Sunday.
