Eight AK-47 Rifles Seized After High-Speed Chase in Alicante

Spanish police have seized eight AK-47 automatic rifles and arrested four men after a high-speed chase that started in Alicante and ended in Murcia. The suspects, aged 21 to 43, are accused of weapons trafficking, belonging to a criminal group, and attacking police officers.

The chase

The pursuit began when agents from the Organised Crime Group spotted a car driving dangerously on the motorway between Alicante and Elche. When the driver noticed the police, he sped off, reaching speeds over 150 km/h and ramming police vehicles. One patrol car was forced off the road. The seizure and arrests

Inside the abandoned car, police found eight Kalashnikov AK-47 rifles with magazines, classified as war weapons Source: ABC, La Vanguardia. All four suspects were later arrested in Alicante and San Vicente del Raspeig; all had prior criminal records.
