GIFF 2026 Honors Women, Features AI Showcase

The 29th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) will take place from July 24 to August 2, 2026, in Guanajuato Capital and San Miguel de Allende, with 203 to 205 films from 55 countries, all free to the public. The festival centers on women in the industry and introduces a special section on artificial intelligence.

The festival honors actresses Cecilia Suárez and Marina de Tavira, producer Inna Payán, and the late Spanish actress Marisa Paredes. Suárez will receive the "Más Cine" Silver Award and the UNAM Film Library Medal, while De Tavira and Payán will be recognized by the Association of Women in Film and Television.
