A 1,000-kilogram elephant seal named Neil has returned to Tasmania for his annual visit, becoming a global social media sensation while raising concerns about public safety. Neil, born in 2020 and weighing approximately a ton, is a young male who typically spends weeks on land molting after months at sea. The Return of Neil

Neil has made at least 12 visits to Tasmanian coastal towns, and each time he draws crowds.
